In the states, Diadora is known as a company that pumps out retro goodness, but in the early 2000’s they were busy pumping out tech running shoes in addition to their retro goodness. Enter the Mythos 280, a running shoe that retailed at $79.95 and featured nylon air mesh with soft supreltech overlays and variable lacing system in the upper, a removable anatomically shaped cotton jersey and shock absorbing RB EVA foam insole, a midsole that was molded of high end EVA foam with double action inserts in the forefoot and heel area and a competition comfort bridge (CCB) as well as an outsole that featured flex oft rubber in the forefoot for cushioning and reduced weight and Duratech 5000 in the heel area for increased durability. While its unlikely someone is going to be scouring eBay for a fresh pair of these its still an interesting part of Diadora’s history. Check them out below!
