On Tuesday January 20th, at Baby’s All Right in Williamsburg critically acclaimed and award winning writer, director and producer Jess Manafort, her network of creative friends and the DeFY New York team celebrated the launch of Jess’s new site The Mirror Cube ; which covers film, music and art happenings in New York and Los Angeles. The site cuts out the middle man (editor or critic) of an online media outlet and instead provides recommendations directly by artists for artists (Contributors include Brady Corbet, Kitty Cash, Brandee Brown, Kilo Kish, Albert Hammond JR, Soko, Becka Diamond, Douglas Smith, Sage Vaughn, Jena Malone, Jake Hoffman, Rebecca Dayan, Carlos Puga, Waris Ahluwalia, Guy Arouch, Kaneholler, Natalie Neal, Gillian Zinser, Jess Manafort, Stella Maeve, Christina Caradona, Raviv Ullman, Anna Grey, Mona Fastvoid, Ashton Lunceford, Jessica Stroup, Daniel Merriweather, Andy Marron, Tasya Van Ree, Carlen Altman, Antonio Campos, The Bots, Jen Steele, Sean Durkin, Keith Kendell and more…) Performances by Bear In Heaven and Walking Shapes and DJ sets by Soko and Alexander Dexter Jones rounded out a chill evening in BK and a solid launch for a site with lots of potential.
