This past thursday Dr. Martens celebrated the launch of the Spirit of 69 collection at The Delancey in the Lower East Side, New York. Fashion, music and art notables Vincent Piazza, Ashley Smith, Adesuwa Aighewi, Chloé Caillet and Francesca Vuillemin a long with 600 guests showed up to the three tier venue for a special night that included: Electric Punanny [Melo X and Jasmine Solano] spinning classic and current reggae tracks on the main floor, Caribbean hors d’ouevres catered by Miss Lily’s and drinks by Sailor Jerry rum on the rooftop and live band performances from The Frightnrs, Jah Point & The Boomshot Riddim Collective and Scratch Famous/Deadly Dragon Sound in the basement.
The collection (which is made up of Dr. Martens footwear, shirts from Brutus, Edwin Jeans and MA-1 flight jackets from Alpha Industries as well as a collaborative record box from Dr. Martens and Trojan Records) will be available in Dr Martens stores and online early September.
