Its hard to believe it now, but in 2001 things weren’t looking so hot for Converse. The company filed for Bankruptcy early in the year and it looked as though this historic and legendary company might disappear forever, that was, until Nike took over. Still, its interesting to see what shoes looked like during this dark period for the brand. Enter this shoe, the White Shadow (the same name as the TV show from the late 70’s that focused on a white professional basketball player). Converse was known for some questionable shoe names at the time and you can add the White Shadow to the mix. It was almost as if the designers knew the company was going under and said what the hell, lets give these shoes the worst names imaginable but actually make them look good. Name aside the White Shadow had some nice curves and a clean collegiate colorway. Take a trip back to 2001 above!
