(Left to right 2001 version in red, 2013 Macy’s Center, RL.COM version to the right)
If you’re like a lot of people that love Ralph Lauren when news of the Polo Bears limited return surfaced you hurried to make sure you had the funds to scoop. With Retail at about 320 USD with tax these things aren’t cheap and so some had to put off the purchase for a week or so only to find out Macy’s.com would also carry the sweater, and get this, 50 dollars cheaper.
Golden you thought, and maybe you’ll be able to sweeten the deal with an extra 25% off, even better. So you make the purchase online or by phone and chill out happy that you snagged a sweater about 100 bucks cheaper than RL.com was selling for. So a few days pass and your package arrives, only, wait a minute. What the, whats this? Its a Polo Bear sweater alright, but what happened tie? Where is the red sweater? The detailed crest on his jacket? The red sweater around his waist? You even notice he’s not as smug and his Khaki’s are now grey. Why is my bears ears droopy? %$^&, this isn’t what I ordered you scream to yourself. Well my friend, you are correct. It seems as though Macy’s is carrying an alternate Polo Bear Sweater not as detailed as the one on RL.COM (but are advertising the RL.COM version) No, the Macy’s version looks more like the 2001 version (in red to the left of the photo above). Check out the photo’s above and let us know if you’ve purchased the Macy’s.com version.
