The funny thing about the 1998 release of the Adidas Squire basketball shoe is that its name has roots in running (see the 1982 Adidas Squire Running Shoe). They were marketed as an indoor/outdoor shoe that offered supreme cushioning with Adidas’s famed adiPRENE. The Adidas Torsion system and and ultra flexible outsole was used to enhance independent forefoot and rearfoot movement for better cutting, quick step and/or the fast break. If you can find a set today don’t expect to pay much over 140 unless you’re a die hard Adidas fan and just have to have them. Take a trip back to 1998 above!
