I’m an addict for sneakers Nas proclaimed in his 1994 track ‘New York State of Mind’, a decade before the masses would flock to a culture that thrives off of timeless silhouettes, limited runs and in a lot of cases the memories attached to both. Well, it seems that Nas is taking this addiction for footwear to the next level because he is opening his own sneaker spot in Las Vegas aka the place where you can make some bad decisions and uhhhhh what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas (yea right) called Sneaker Fiends. The sneaker community may think its just another rapper trying to exploit the scene but in reality this dude has been around and knows whats up. Nas has been known to sport Puma, FILA and New Balance hardbody and is usually on point with his gear so it will be interesting to see the diversity in the shops footwear/gear stock. The biggest question on everyone’s mind however might just be why Nas (who is from New York) chose Vegas and not his home stomping grounds (could be New York is over saturated with higher rent but thats speculation). Nonetheless, if you’re looking to make the voyage out to Vegas in the near future (this doesn’t apply to the natives silly) then this is a spot you’ll want to add of places to see. Now if you’re looking for a spot to rest your head at night theres a place called ARIA Las Vegas (a resort). ARIA Las Vegas is a 15 minute drive from the famed Gold and Silver Pawn Shop (home to The History Channel’s Pawn Stars) and more than likely not very far from Nas’s new shop (we don’t know the location yet). Adjacent to ARIA is a spot called The Shops at Crystals where you can buy goods from brands like Louis Vuitton, Cartier and Tiffany & Co. to name a few and when your done shopping there’s the clubs, dining, pools and other amenities to keep you occupied.
