There seemed to be a lot of promise for the Puma Vinsanity but the Puma and Vince Carter collab never quite lived up to its expectations and ended, instead, in turmoil. The signature shoe for the 1999 rookie of the year lacked the “wow factor” other sig shoes displayed and was probably the contributing factors for Vince Carter terminating his deal with Puma in late 1999. Puma filed for breach of contract against Vince Carter and won in arbitration to the tune of $13.5 million dollars for breach of contract and a 3 year ban on wearing competitors apparel. In the long run Vince Carter went on to endorse the Nike Shox BB line and Puma hasn’t made any noise in the basketball market for a very long time. Take a trip back to 1999 below!
