Built by a shoe salesman named Mahlon Haines in 1948, the Haines Shoe house was originally to serve as a form of advertisement. He eventually rented out the property and eventually sold it in 1987.

Built by artist and hotelier Ron Van Zyl in 1990 for his wife, the home showcases Van Zyl’s wood carvings. It’s also the best looking of the shoe houses.
