In the late 90’s And One came out with the Harmonix which featured a technology called Dura-Spring in the heel. It was ostensibly a carbon copy of Avia’s cantilever design. Instead of suing And One, American Sporting Goods, the company that owned Avia at the time, purchased And One in 2005. So this Avia shoe from 2003 was not continued and Avia dropped the basketball line altogether in 2005. But it got an excellent review from Professor K when it came out back in August of 2003. He called it a basic, but excellent all-around shoe. Beefy and more for big men than quicker, smaller players. Companies like Avia, Etonic, Brooks, Pony, etc. all had basketball shoes and players under contract in the mid 80’s to early 90’s. Brooks had Dominiqe Wilkins, Etonic had Hakeem Olaguan, Avia had Clyde Drexler and Pony had Spud Web when he won the slam dunk title in 1988.
