Its not every day you get to see original sketches for a legendary shoe, but today is not every day. Steve Francis (not to be confused with the basketball player) is a 17 year veteran of the shoe industry (with experience from design director to consultant for companies such as Converse, Saucony, New Balance, HI-TEC Sports, and Wolverine to name a few) and the current owner of Francis Design (a product design consultancy specializing in footwear design and development). He is the man behind the Converse Triple Double (Magic Johnson’s signature shoe) and was involved with the Aero Glide (a shoe worn by Larry Johnson). He is also the reason we are fortunate enough to see these old sketches. For more info on Steve Francis or Francis Design check out Francisdesignworks.com. Take a trip back to 1989/1990 below with an original sketch of the Converse Triple Double and Magic Johnson’s dog tags. To vote for a retro of this shoe CLICK HERE!
