I remember when I first saw these back in 91. You couldn’t help but ask yourself how they got away with copying the Reebok pump. Well, L.A. Gear paid Reebok 1 million Dollars and licensing fees in an out of court settlement back in 1992 because of the regulator. Its pretty obvious the Regulator infringed on Reebok’s patented pump technology. As much as I love the story behind the shoe and for that matter the way they look, I highly doubt L.A. Gear will bring these back (although it would be nice). Anyhow check out some of the pictures below of the L.A. Gear Catapult, pictures courtesy of jhmonaco and playamazonaws of sneakerplay, vintagepaperads.com,doomtree.netand foralltoenvy of ebay. Enjoy the pictures!
