When I first saw the Jordan XIII on the wall of Champs Sports I laughed. I couldn’t imagine how they thought putting a hologram of Michael Jordan on the shoe looked good. Well, about 5 months later after seeing them over and over again, I realized why, unfortunately for me by the time I realized just how good they really looked they were non existent in any of the stores so a hunting I would go. Living on Long Island in 1998, it was april so I was still 16 and thus had no car. A friend and I hopped on the LIRR and to Queen’s we went (Jamaica Ave. to be exact.) There I found my White, black red XIII’s looking as beautiful as ever, it was a good day. About 2 months later they would make a trip to the Puerto Rican Day Parade, and lets just say BAD DECISION. The red suede mixed with the rain was not good. They still looked good but not fresh, so hunting I would go for other colorway’s, the next of which would be the white, black and then eventually the black and red. This colorway is beautiful. You see, the retro’s don’t do it justice. The retro’s are much more narrow, are missing a lot of the padding, aren’t as wide in the back, and the comfort in the midsole is not there. If your in the market for some XIII’s pick up the OG’s they are very durable and your chances of them not being wearable are slim. Anyhow, below are pictures of the original Black/True Red/White Jordan XIII from the DeFY. New York Photo Vault enjoy and stay tuned for pictures of other colorways.
