One of my favorite shoes growing up, Nike brought this shoe back in 2001 although sadly without the “Nike Air” on the back. This was the first Air Jordan Retro of an Original Colorway that featured the Jump Man on the heel. The Jordan III originally released in 1988, was brought back in 1994 and again in 2001. The 1994 version’s did not sell well due to Michael Jordan’s first retirement, and the fact that most people were wearing puma’s, chuck t’s and vans during this time. For 2001 they sold out much faster although not as fast as today. The quality on the 2001 retro’s is really good, if you find a pair chances are they are still wearable. They fit true to size and the only issue with these is midsole and plastics yellowing which can be prevented by placing them in zip lock bags (do not zip them up) just place them in to prevent rubbing of the wrapping paper and or box on the midsole.
