The premier edition Reebok Pump is a sneaker legend. Extra High top, this shoe saw its first retro in 2004 (although it was not retro’d in black/white). Sales of the shoe were so stale in 2004 you wondered if Reebok would ever bring them back, and luckily for us they did. In late 2009, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the pump, Reebok brought this shoe back in all its original glory (even the original box design). The 20th anniversary edition is much more true to the original than the 2004 release in terms of all around shape although both are almost dead on. The toe box on the 2009 version resembles the original much more closer than the 2004 version. The 2004 version’s pump mechanism works better, and the 2009 version has more padding. Both are great shoes, if you can get yourself a pair of 2004’s do yourself a favor and buy them. These pairs were only carried at 20 stores world wide and each store only received 29 pairs of each colorway as well as 30 pairs of a special edition store exclusive shoe. These pairs are slowly disappearing so if you haven’t picked up your pair yet don’t sleep. Below are pictures of the black and white version from the DeFy. New York Photo Vault + a bonus video to show you the difference between the 2004 version and the 2009 version enjoy.
