When this shoe was slated to release I was excited. Pictures didn’t look that bad, I even saw past the Jumpman on the back. When I finally picked up my pairs the excitement turned into frustration. You see, these IV’s fit very very strange, and its obvious poor craftsmanship is to blame. I went a half size down, and the shoe slightly to snug, I went up to my normal size and the shoe fit to big, all I could do is sit there and think to myself….WTF? This wasn’t the first time this happened. The first time I encountered this problem was with the olympic VII’s probably because they used the same leather. A lot of the pairs came very wrinkled up. Another issue is the rubber part on the back tends to dig into your ankle (not fun). All around I would give this release a B-. The Laser 4 retro in the fire red colorway feets better, and looks better. Had they left the laser print off the shoe and put some plastic straps instead of the leather, they would have been closer to the original. Anyhow, below are pictures of the 2006 Mars IV retro from the DeFY. New York Photo Vault enjoy.
