When these retro’s started showing up unannounced at stores feelings were mixed. You see, in 1994 a lot of people were wearing Chuck T’s, Puma Suedes, and Vans following Cali fashion trends. On the flipside of that was people wearing Eastlands & Timb’s. As popular as Jordans were and have always been, 1994 was not a big year for Nike Air Jordan sneakers, it didn’t help that Michael left basketball to pursue baseball. These retro’s sat on shelves for a very long time to say the least, deeply discounted. There were a few people here and there that picked these up at retail although those numbers were low. Fast forward to 2010 and one could only wish that Nike/Jordan Brand would retro a shoe like that. For 100.00 you got a damn near exact re-issue of the original shoe, a special edition box, a nice retro card, special wrapping paper all for 100 bucks. Today you’ll be sold a shoe that looks like it should be carried at your local Toy store, and you’ll more than likely be forced to buy another shoe that you don’t want for a good 300.00. Real nice . Anyhow below are a pair of 1994 Nike Air Jordan III white/cement retro’s from the DeFY. New York Vault Enjoy
