The Nike Air Max Plus from 1998-2000 was an incredible specimen. This particular color combo was very nice. Personally I was never a big fan of the white midsole on these, aside from that the original and retro (up to 2003) was one of the top 3 most comfortable sneakers I have ever put on my feet. A 7 hour day around Manhattan in these bad boys and my feet were feeling good, real good. Fit wise they give you just enough room, but a secure snug fit, very breathable. Go a half size up as these run small as do most Nike Running shoes. The cons of owning this shoe are few, one of them being the polyurethane midsole. Once the mid sole gets dirty on these they are very hard to clean. The clear toe guard tends to get scratched up, and yellow over time if not worn with care. You must also be careful about midsole cracking on these, as pre-2000 pairs tend to eventually fall apart (in my experience about 1 in 7 pairs is truly wearable with no issues, i.e. all air units are holding air 100% with no cracking). If you are fan of Nike running shoes this is a pair you may want to look into. Below are pictures from the DeFY. New York Photo Vault. Sit back and enjoy this trip back to 2000.
